We have 20 years of experience of Cómpeta, and a wealth of information about its culture, the Sierras Almijaras, what there is to see and do. We have written for a number of local magazines such as Ocio Axarquia, Sentinella, the Market Place and the Grapevine. This coupled with our 10 years of tourism marketing experience in Scotland, gives a good knowledge base for publishing this magazine. The methodology of the downloadable guide has been tried and tested in Scotland over three years through the e-magazine the Northern Highlands Explorer, and has brought the tourism product together for economic benefit. Both Caithness in Scotland and Cómpeta were seen to require a focussed marketing tool for the tourism industry, with local knowledge of events, walking routes, history and culture. The Northern Highlands Explorer is used in exhibitions, at trade fairs and is distributed locally. We are hoping that the same can be achieved for the Cómpeta Guide.
